The National High School Musical Theater Awards™

On Monday, June 29, 2009, 16 professional theater organizations from 11 states participated in the first annual National High School Musical Theater Awards™ in New York City.   The event was hosted by hosted by television and theater personality Kathie Lee Gifford.

This national celebration of outstanding student achievement in high school musical theater featured the “Best Actress” and “Best Actor” winners from local competitions including The Gene Kelly Awards. The student performers traveled to New York to participate in a national competition for The Jimmy Award™, named in honor of legendary Broadway theater owner and producer James M. Nederlander.
